WHAT’S GOIN’ ON?! Newsletter

Spring has sprung! I’ve been hearing birds singing (sounds like the Hallelujah Chorus to me!) and signs of God’s glory in creation getting ready to sprout all over the place! Bring it on, April!  Let’s go!

Now I know this is technically still a March event, but I think this will be cool, so I’m including it!  That said, on Sunday, March 29, there will be a Senior Adult Ministry meeting at noon.  All senior adults are invited to attend to discuss the formation of a Senior Ministry.  There will be a pitch-in before the meeting, so please bring a covered dish to share.  I just want it known that as far as Sunday School classes go, the Guiding Lights class can be the rowdiest!  Sometimes louder than the kids!  I can’t wait to hear what they’ll be getting to do!

Wednesday, April 1, from 10:00-11:30 a.m. will be a MOPS small group meeting, where moms get some grown-up fellowship time while their littles are being watched and loved on.  An hour and a half…grown-up time…enjoy, moms!  There will be a MOPS playdate two weeks after on Wednesday, April 15, also from 10:00-11:30 a.m.

There will be a Church Work day on Saturday, April 4, from 8:00-noon. Please come and help freshen up God’s house.  Remember that some people only come to church two times a year and Easter is one of them. Let’s prepare to receive them!

Sunday, April 5, is Easter Sunday!  He is risen!  The Annie Armstrong Easter Mission offering will be taken and sent to help missionaries working within the borders of the U.S. and Canada.  Extra envelopes are on the table in the foyer if you would like to turn in your offering early.  Because of the holiday, there will be no evening activities.  Enjoy the time with your friends and families!  He is risen, indeed!

On Friday, April 17, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. and Saturday, April 18, from 8:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m., Pastor Rick Cobb will be leading a Youth and Adult Sunday School teacher training retreat.  This will be a great opportunity to become better equipped to lead your classes and be more effective at discipling your students.  Again this retreat is for teachers of high school on up.  I may have heard something about pizza?  That might be worth the price of admission right there!  Just sayin’!

Last up, final chance to fill out a green sheet to let lovely Miss Sue know how you would like to be contacted by the church with updates and other tidbits of information.  Any names that can be taken off the phone tree list, and updated by e-mail notification instead, will help cut down the 3+ hours it is taking to get to everyone currently.  That’s it for April!  Now go out and tell somebody just how good God has been to YOU!
