First Baptist Church has served as a spiritual lighthouse in Parke County Indiana for over 100 years. Pastor Dana Spurgeon was called and became our pastor in January, 1998. He and has led the church through many changes. In July of 2006, we moved into a new facility where we continue to grow and thrive. Besides Sunday and Wednesday services, our church is involved in multiple ministries throughout the week. Activities are regularly being held to promote the teaching of God’s Word and the strengthening of our families. We look forward to showing you what God is doing at FBC!
Dana J. Spurgeon, Pastor
In May of 1964 at the age of 9, he accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior. Raised in a Christian home and at church whenever the doors were opened, molded his desire for ministry. Pastor Spurgeon served God in the Gospel ministry even before graduating Bible College in 1976. He has ministered effectively in the areas of youth, music, school and church administration, evangelistic events, and pastoring. Pastor Spurgeon was called by God to be the pastor of First Baptist Church in January of 1999.
Brent Lacy, Associate Pastor/Youth
Brent has been serving in Bi-vocational and Full-time Youth Mnistry since accepting the call to ministry in 2001. His work experiece in the fields of Information Technology and Child Abuse Investigation gives him a missional mindset to creatively reach those that would never darken the doors of traditional church. Pastor Lacy is a Graduate of Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, Missouri. Pastor Lacy was called to be the Associate/Youth Pastor at First Baptist Church in 2009.
